Paz & Gorm & Oliver & some other friends are all perplexed about mathematics. They think it is huge, and so important that all philosophy should just conform itself to Maths. The problem is, while they know that any data or knowledge can at best be an approximation and a simplification and a relative truth, they mysteriously miss the relativeness of Maths. And it is a shame, too, that they are perplexed, because Maths is such a simple, solved issue.

No matter how many ways you phrase the relativity of Maths, no matter how many counter-examples you throw at them, they just can’t wrap their minds around this: I have no choice in 2+2 except 4.

Well, between a healthy salad and Burger King i have no choice either, and still fat is not my reality (…i hope). A drug addict has no choice, but the first thing you want to convince him of is that the drug is not the essence of his reality.

Are we addicted to Maths? As a culture? Things like automated proof might indicate we are…
